WEKA - Keeping it Cool
A WEKA boxcooler is the perfect solution for cooling auxiliary and main engines for all inland waterway and seagoing vessels. Engine jacket water is cooled in a very simple, yet effective manner providing the ship owner with many years of trouble-free service.
The boxcooler is installed into a sea chest. As the hot water circulates through the cooler tubes, a thermo-siphon is created within the sea chest. Warm water is expelled from the top of the sea chest while cooler water is drawn into the sea chest from the bottom. The result is a steady flow of cool sea water passing through the boxcooler tube bundle.
Each boxcooler is designed to provide cooling according to the engine specifications and ambient operational requirements.
